More about DFS

DFS, which stands for Direct Furnishing Supplies, is a UK-based furniture outlet that has taken Europe by storm with outlets in Ireland, Spain and the Netherlands. Initially, DFS was a family-run company functioning out of a snooker hall in Yorkshire, with the founder Graham Kirkham constructing the furniture in the upstairs space and retailing it downstairs. Founded in 1969, Kirkham’s company merged with a nearby company to become DFS and fast became one of the most successful furniture companies on the market. However, this newfound fame and success didn’t only bring good news. In an unfortunate twist of fate, Kirkham’s business - focused on creating a warm and comfortable family home environment - encouraged breakins and robberies in his own sanctuary. But as profits and success increased, DFS itself proved an unstoppable force.

Through a series of canny TV adverts, DFS was soon launched both into homes and into household name status. It now stands as one of the most successful furniture industries in the UK, sending its comfortable couches all around Europe.

What about my old sofa, after I’ve bought my DFS couch?

DFS recommend you donate your sofa to the British Heart Foundation to help raise money. If your sofa still has its fire label then you can even arrange a free collection service.

Do DFS provide fabric swatches?

If I don’t have a very good credit rating, can I still get a DFS guarantee?

DFS work with a number of third-party finance providers to help you create a payment plan, and can be contacted 24/7 at 0800 110 5000 if you want more advice.

Your DFS Delivery

DFS will deliver and install your sofa for £99 as long as you live within a 50 mile radius of a DFS UK Mainland store!

DFS sofas can be returned so long as they are in very good condition, and still in their original wrapping. You have 14 working days following delivery before the returns window closes.
