How do I get to Madame Tussauds?
Madame Tussauds is located in Marylebone Road in central London. The closest underground station is Baker Street, which is around a one minute walk away. Baker Street is on many of the major central tube lines, including Bakerloo, Circle and Jubilee lines, meaning it is really easy to reach from anywhere in the city. You can find more information about reaching Madame Tussauds in other ways, for example by bus, here on their website.
Does Madame Tussauds have disabled access?
Because of its location in a historic London building, most guests will need to use stairs to access all of the attractions at Madame Tussauds. However, there is a lift specifically to help those with limited mobility get around the venue, and staff dedicated to helping wheelchair users. Because lift space is limited Madame Tussauds can only accommodate three wheelchairs at a time, so you are strongly advised to make an advance booking (though this is also the best way to make savings!).
Madame Tussauds has had a place in London for over 250 years, with the current location in Marylebone Road opened by the grandsons of Marie Tussaud herself in 1884. The attraction was subject to heavy bombing during World War II, which destroyed a lot of the waxworks on display at the time, but managed to reopen better than ever. There are now Madame Tussauds locations all over the world, in places from Las Vegas to Sydney, but London's is still the original and best!
Madame Tussauds works hard to keep up with the times, so as well as legendary stars you can also see the most current icons in up-to-date incarnations of their look. Current celebrities and public figures like Lady Gaga, the Duchess of Cambridge and Mark Zuckerberg can be found alongside stars of the past like Audrey Hepburn, and fictional icons like Marvel superheroes. Madame Tussauds also has a Bollywood collection with all of the hottest stars of Indian cinema.
