Liberty was originally founded by Arthur Liberty in the late 19th century, using a loan of £2000 he got from his future wife's father. His goal was to create a shop in the style of an eastern bazaar, with fabrics, clothing and homeware inspired by the luxurious materials and designs popular in Japan, China and the Middle East at the time. Liberty's own in-house designers to this day still honour the taste of the man who created the now legendary store, which while now much larger, still resides in the same spot on Regent Street. First established in 1875, the brand has moved with the times - still with strong art nouveau influences and the same beautiful architecture as before - it also sells many of the most cutting edge brands in fashion, like Alexander McQueen and Chloe, as well as having some of its own exclusive lines from designers like Fabrizio Riva and Anna Sheffield.
Whatever you are looking for, if you want something luxurious that stands out from the norm with an eye-catching design, you'll find it amid the ranges at Liberty of London. The store itself is always a delight to visit with its incredible displays and opulent décor, but you can enjoy Liberty online too. So for daring, interesting and classy styles, just make Liberty your first stop shop for fabulous new things for your wardrobe, home and lifestyle.
