Like most great things in life, Parcelforce started life back in the 80s: it was in 1986 that the Royal Mail Group created a separate parcel function that laid the ground for the business we know today. In 1990 Royal Mail Parcels was rebranded to become Parcelforce and in 1998 it became Parcelforce Worldwide. With continual IT investment from day 1, Parcelforce has become an extremely efficient, enhanced operation, boasting 54 depots across the UK and 3 highly automated tracking and sorting centres. Its National Centre can handle over 58,000 parcels every hour. At peak times, the centre takes delivery of 1 fully loaded vehicle every 45 seconds.
