Windscribe works by creating an encrypted ‘tunnel’ from your computer to the Windscribe servers - all of your online activity is sent through this tunnel. This masks your IP address, so your ISP and the sites you’re visiting can’t track your activity or access your private info. This also means your location isn’t being tracked, so you can browse as though you’re in a different country.

Windscribe also blocks ad beacons and trackers that can normally follow you across sites you visit, so you won’t get targeted ads via social media and other websites.
